Gabriela is doing two lectures on this conference:

Title 1: "Fostering Emotional Competencies in AAC Speakers"?

Emotional competencies positively impact various aspects of life. Individuals who benefit from AAC often face challenges in recognizing, expressing, and regulating emotions. This presentation explores the interaction between language and emotional competencies and introduces tools and strategies to support emotional learning through AAC, highlighting their role in intervention design and practice. By fostering emotional competencies, we empower AAC Speakers to enhance self-expression, autonomy, and overall quality of life.

Title 2: " Dare to dream"

"Dare to Dream" is a program created by Diane Nelson Bryen, designed to support individuals who rely on AAC in daring to dream, identifying, expressing, and achieving their aspirations. This presentation explores how the program fosters self-determination and goal-setting through a structured, guided process and collaboration with supporters. It also examines the program's impact and highlights real-life examples of how it empowers AAC speakers to turn their dreams into achievable realities.
